Aren Groen Jr.

My Biography...

I am a Creative Expressions Artist...  And I draw., sketch,  paint,  photo edit, and  design all of my projects....  I am a Canadian Artist born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1961 to Aren Groen Sr. and Simona Oorschot of the Netherlands. I also have 2 older Sisters and one younger Brother. My Interest in getting into Various Creative Arts came from my family and from some of my relatives. When I was a boy, my Dad played awesome Guitar and Harmonica. He also built a few models also in my Youth. Also my Oldest Sister wrote some awesome poetry and my 2nd oldest sister was very skilled in various yarn crafts and Home Decorating as like my Mother. My Mother was my biggest role model and mentor when it came to Creative expressions and Possibility Thinking! She was also my closest friend who understood me more than anyone I ever knew in my life except for God! My Mother was into Woodworking arts, She was into String art, Driftwood Art, and Making costumes for porcelain dolls which she had collected well over 1000's of them! She was also a huge influence in my life when it came not only to Art and possibility thinking, She influenced my life in Music, Cooking, and Various Sports in Motion Arts. (eg., figure skating, dancing, gymnastics, movie musicals and acting.) As I became an adult, I watched my brother enter a career in acting and film making to which he has now 2 successful movies. I on the other hand am not only into Art, but I am into Music Projects, I write songs, I play Guitar, Keyboard, and Piano. I am also an Entrepreneur interested in Online Marketing, I am currently working on a Book about my 2 Heavenly Visits Dreams. I am into online marketing, and I am into  building websites. I am also starting a Christian Ministry, and I also am into Photo Editing. So you see that Art and Creative Expressions runs in my family! On my relative side, My grandfather of my mother's side was a writer, and I have Relatives from North Bay who run a Cottage resort which they had fixed up and their kids now run, allowing my aunt to get into Pottery Art and Marketing for a living! She too is a huge influence in my life that inspired me to become independant in making a living. When I was a boy, I too wanted to become an entrepreneur and succeed in Music, Art and Marketing. As I got older, I preferred to do this all online and for myself..., Of course as money had always been an issue all my life and having to depend on dead end jobs all my life, I decided it was time to change direction. In 1991 I moved to the States. I lived in California in the early 90's to try to succeed in music and business, and I lived in Nashville in the early 2000's to try to succeed in songwriting and music. Unfortunately I ran into many snags in my stay there because I had no help or chance to make it there! Finances and lack of income also kept me from getting anywhere with my dreams and goals there too! Also a Bad Marriage and loosing all my possessions led me to decide to come back to Canada in the fall of 2004. Most of my life I had done Manufacturing Jobs that were only temporary and put me in serious poverty many times. I always believed you should be real about who you are and not be ashamed of it. And not to worry about what others are gonna say about your dreams and goals because they will not pay your bills for you! I needed to get into something that would allow me to bootstrap my life and dreams into Success. At the time when I  Started art! I believed Art might be my only Chance now! So one day I was at a Community Drop In and I noticed people painting and drawing, It was a big room with lots of supplies and material but not many people in this class so I walked in and enquired about how I can participate. The Coordinator asked me what would I like to do! I saw Pencils and Huge Paper and I sat down and started to draw whatever I wanted to. It was nice that I didn't have to pay for the use of these supplies, Just to use them and share them with others there! I decided on Drawing something to do with Outdoors and Camping. Now after being involved for about 1 month with this group session, I was informed of an auction to raise money for a Charity! My First Drawing was entered! It raised $75.00 and I got to keep $50.00. and that made up my mind to use Art as a way to bootstrap my life into a profitable career! Now my goal is to get my art to make me a great living and to bootstrap me and get me into other things I want to do Entrepreneurially!

My Squirrel Story...

My Obsession with Squirrels began with me as a 7 year old boy at Hogs Back Park in Nepean Ontario Ottawa South. I was sitting with my dad on a park Bench and my dad had a bag of peanuts in his hand. My Dad says to me, "Aren..., I want you to watch something.  Now pay attention!..."  My dad starts to gently hold out a peanut and a squirrel approached my dad's hand with the peanut! The Squirrel Gently removes the peanut from my dad's hand and stuffs it in one side of it's cheek, then my dad hands it another peanut and it puts the peanut inside the other side of the cheek, then it goes away. Then my dad says to me.., "Now you try it!" At first I was scared.., I thought if I didn't do this right, the squirrel would scratch me or something! Then my dad kept showing me and that squirrel kep coming back for more peanuts! Then the Chipmunks showed up from nowhere and they too took peanuts from my dad! Then I said to my dad, "I'll try it!" My father puts a peanut in my hand and says to me.., "Listen Carefully!  Never Shrug the peanut away, if you do, only then will the squirrel get vicious and attack because Peanuts are food which they must survive!  Never tease them, Never horse around with them! Just let go when the squirrel approaches the peanut and gently takes it out of your hand!" So I had a squirrel approach my hand and I was nervous a bit! Shaking a bit, and my dad says to me.., "Aren Just relax and when the squirrel grabs the peanut, Gently let go!" And when it took it, I gently let go and more squirrels and Chipmunks came for more peanuts! And I was laughing through the process till my dad's peanuts were gone! And that's where it started for me with my obsession with squirrels! Now I know to many, Squirrels can be a nuisance but Squirrels are like any Animal that if you treat them with loyalty and kindness, they too will be gentle and trusting! However; if you treat animals with cruelty, they will become vicious and turn  against you! So What I learned from this experience is to always love Animals and one another, and this has to become unconditional if you want to get ahead in life! And that's my Squirrel Story!  The Kissing Squirrel Idea of my Title came from one of my Drawings! I drew a pencil sketch of Kissing Squirrels In A Tree So then..,Why did I add Kissing Squirrels in my title?  Well Alot of people in my life never really understood this of me even to look at me you would never think to know this of me! But If you really got to know me, I'm a Die Hard Romantic! Also since my work is kind of crazy and weird, I am kind of an Artistic Comedian!  I have a sense of Humour! I'm a Jokester at heart! My whole objective  as a Creative Impressions Artist is not just to be as original in my works, but to be funny and to try to make people smile and laugh! And to make people feel appreciated and entertained! That's basically about it!...
